Village Point exists to help people
know and follow Jesus and live with purpose.
In order to accomplish our mission in Horizon West and around the world we will be guided by five guiding statements:
We will not think small because we serve a big God.
The Bible describes God as all knowing and all powerful. If we truly believe this, which at Village Point we do, then it changes everything. It changes the way we think and live. So much about how God works is a mystery. We read things in the Bible that sometimes don’t make sense, or honestly seem impossible. Therefore it can be difficult for us to relate to and or believe, so we put the Bible in this different category and limit what we believe God can do today.
What we must realize is the Bible is full of people just like you and me. We often forget the men and women we read about in the Bible are not necessarily special, they are normal everyday people who God simply worked in and through. We are committed to being a church that believes and trusts in a BIG God who can and will do far more than we can think or imagine when we simply follow Him.
We will pursue people & trust God with the results.
At Village Point you will find everyday people, all of us with our share of past mistakes and scares. That includes me, the lead Pastor. We are not interested in putting on a show, or painting a picture of perfection. Instead we want Village Point to a place where people can come with their questions, doubts, baggage, honestly come as you are with all their stuff. We truly care about you as an individual and your family. We want to meet you where you are and simply help you take your next step in your spiritual journey.
We trust God to do what He has been doing from the beginning of time. It’s not our job to change you, instead we want to simply build a relationship that is real and unconditional. You are not a number at Village Point, your a real person, a real family who we get the joy of locking arms with have a front row seat to seeing God do amazing things.
We will build environments that foster growth.
We believe we all have room to grow. Nobody has arrived, nobody has this thing called life figured out. Sure there are some who have learned some valuable things, and there are some who have figured out some great practices that lead to success, but we want to be a place where we can all continue to grow. We know people are busy, there are more things fighting for time on your calendar than ever before. That is why at Village Point we will hard to value your time and create environments that aim to help you grow. We want every day of your life to be one that you are learning, stretching, and fulfilling your ultimate purpose in life.
We will partner with families to impact the future.
We realize that not everyone is married with kids but make no mistake there is something unique about the design of the family. As a parent personally with 5 kids, I know I need the church. I believe in the old saying it takes a village! Today there are parents and children who are growing up and living in a world that moving at a very fast pace and is rapidly changing. We believe our job as the local church is to partner with families supporting parents as they strive to navigate the world we live in. Village Point will not cut corners when it comes to supporting the family, after all, we believe this is one of the greatest ways we can impact future generations to come.
We will practice radical generosity.
We don’t believe anything we have is really ours. We believe God can do more with what we give him than we ever can with what we hold on to. We will approach everything we do with open hands trusting God. We will give our time, our talents, and resources to a cause bigger than ourselves. We will pray big prayers, dream big dreams, and when God tell us take Big risks to help more people know and follow Jesus and live with purpose.
